MAGNESIUM CHLORIDEmagpelletflakebags.jpg

Magnesium Chloride is considered as the best total ice-melter that corrodes metal surfaces less, protects concrete from spalling, is less toxic and environmentally safer than Calcium Chloride and Sodium Chloride (rock salt).

Benefits

MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE (Flake)

Description: Large, flat, clear to off-white flakes / pellets containing over 51% water of hydration.

Relative deicing speed: Starts about as fast as calcium chloride.

Lowest practical temperature: Down to 5° F.

Effect on concrete: All chemicals basically attack concrete threw the thaw / freeze cycle but MAG's effect is at a much slower rate.

Effect on vegetation: Used as recommended, will not hurt vegetation if customer follows the directions on the package as per the manufacturers recomendation.

Magnesium chloride, on a percentage basis, contains 17 - 56% more chloride ion that other rock salt deicers contain enabling it to work to a lower temputure..

Residue: Leaves no powdery residue.

Comments: Flake magnesium chloride contains over 51% water. It starts deicing almost as fast as calcium chloride and is one of the safest products to use.

Same as the flake product above but made in pellet form to flow smoothly threw your speader
